At Atlanta Public Schools (APS), our Health Services Department works to keep every student healthy, safe, and ready to learn. Our mission is to build strong partnerships and provide high-quality health services that meet the unique needs of our urban school community. We follow district policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and evidence-based best practices that align with state and school health laws.

School Support
Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) serve as school nurses in every APS school. They provide:
- Acute and chronic condition management
- Implementation of individualized health plans and coordination with families and providers
- Health education and wellness support for students and staff
One-on-One Nurses provide individualized medical support for students who require continuous, dedicated care.
